Environmental Education seeks to connect our audiences to natural ecosystems. As educators, we hope to motivate our communities to care for these habitats in the future, but telling the story of our ecosystems is complicated! Where do we begin, and how do we create an end product that accomplishes this task? Join us as we take a look at the three year journey of the Wetlands Outreach and Education Project. This collaboration between Nebraska Game and Parks, Platte Basin Timelapse, and others has led to the creation of many products that will both engage and inspire connection to Nebraska’s unique wetlands. It also serves as a great model to discuss what we have learned and how others might venture into these methods of storytelling and science communication. Find inspiration and understand why creating intentional resources has the power to benefit many environments in Nebraska and beyond.
