July 12, 2023 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Environmental Education & the Nebraska Natural Legacy Project

July 12, 2023 | 12:30pm – 1:30pm (CST) | Register Here

During this webinar, hear from Sarah Nevison, a Natural Legacy Wildlife Biologist with Nebraska Game & Parks, about important updates coming to the Nebraska Natural Legacy Project. Learn about how environmental education is woven into the Natural Legacy Plan, the blueprint for conservation in Nebraska, and our plans for updating the document to have more educational and recreation components. As the Natural Legacy Wildlife Biologist, Sarah works with biologists and partners to put conservation on the ground for our at-risk species and ecosystems, and assists with research projects and environmental education efforts. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s degree from South Dakota State University, where she studied swift foxes around Badlands National Park. She lives with her husband and daughter in Milford, just outside of Lincoln.

This webinar is part of the Conservation Education Lunch & Learn Series. Education is an essential part of conservation. Understanding how people learn and what motivates conservation-based behavior changes are complex subjects that span across many scientific disciplines. This free virtual series dives into the science behind educational efforts and practices by learning from experts on a variety of science and educational topics. For questions about the series, contact Amber Schiltz, Fish & Wildlife Education Interim Division Administrator at amber.schiltz@nebraska.gov
