City Nature Challenge 2022 in Nebraska

April 29 @ 12:00 am - May 2 @ 11:59 pm

We have five cities across the state participating in this year’s City Nature Challenge! Check out the link below to learn more! http://outdoornebraska.gov/citynaturechallenge/
Participating Nebraska areas:
  • Omaha Metro
  • Lincoln – Lancaster County
  • Norfolk – Madison County
  • North Platte – Lincoln County
  • Scotts Bluff County

What birds are singing in your neighborhood? What insects are visiting your garden? How many types of trees are on your block? Join cities from around the world in documenting the wildlife that calls our urban environments home during the 2022 City Nature Challenge.

Participants across the globe will be exploring their homes, gardens, and parks to find and record as many different types of wildlife as possible April 29- May 2, 202. Observations will be uploaded through the app iNaturalist and sorted into participating cities projects. The fun continues May 3- 8, 2022 when anyone from anywhere can help to identify the recorded observations. Anyone can participate in this collaborative community science effort!
If you don’t live in a participating city, you can join the Global City Nature Challenge Project on iNaturalist. This project allows anyone, from anywhere to participate in the event- but you have to join the project for your observations to count!
