Christmas Bird Count at Ponca State Park

You’re invited to join our Park Naturalists, local Audubon Society and fellow bird enthusiasts for our annual Christmas Bird Count at Ponca State Park on Sunday, Dec. 14!
We will meet at the Resource and Education Center then break into teams. Come join the fun; learn bird identification tips and see some uncommon species. We’ll kick off day with our Early Morning Christmas Bird Count. A free soup lunch will be served at noon for those in attendance. The day with conclude with an Afternoon Christmas Bird Count.
Ponca State Park’s Christmas Bird Count is part of a nationwide Christmas Bird Count conducted by the National Audubon Society, where data collected is utilized by conservationists and researchers around the world.
Please dress for the weather; and bring a water bottle, binoculars, and bird book. If you do not have binoculars or a bird book, Ponca State Park will loan them to you.
A valid state park vehicle permit is required for park entry.
