Chadron State Park Bioblitz

Join natural resource experts and community volunteers as we discover the biodiversity of the Chadron State Park! A BioBlitz is a 24-hour inventory of all the species in a specific area! The Group Event Facility/Central Building will serve as the BioBlitz headquarters. This FREE event is designed for the whole family. Participants will need to have a Nebraska Park Entry Permit.
Tentative Schedule:
Fri, Sept 9
4:30pm-Small Mammal/Camera Trapping set up (meet at the campground trail)
6:00pm – Dinner *Registration Required for meal*
6:30pm-Welcome & iNaturalist 101
7:00pm- Nature Trivia (teams up to 5)
8:30pm-Moth Blacklighting
Sat, Sept 10
7:00am- Bird Banding
8:00am- Small Mammals
9:00am- Plants & Wildflowers
10:00am- Insect Survey
11:00am- Reptile & Amphibian Survey
