In celebration of America, and honoring our local veterans, Arbor Lodge is hosting a patriotic quilt display during from June 24 – August 14, 2024. Visitors are welcome to view the displays any time during open hours, Tuesdays-Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The display includes over 25 Quilts of Valor and other quilted items; as well as display information regarding Morton Family Veterans and their patriotic service.  Quilts of Valor are a project of the Blue Star Mothers Foundation, which honors veterans who have served overseas.  Blue Star Mothers Chapter 1 of Nebraska City has awarded 257 quilts.  Quilts were also presented to veterans on July 4^th in Brownville, and will be presented at the Otoe county Fair later this month, and at the Nebraska City Veterans Day Program this fall.  Nationally, Blue Star Mothers have presented over 393,000 quilts of valor since the program began in 2003.

Each awarded Quilt of Valor also includes a sign listing the local veteran and service information.

Arbor Lodge is a member of the Nebraska City Museum Association, with free admission for Nebraska City Residents.
