Join us for a free field training to gain hands-on experience with the Nebraska Bumble Bee Atlas! The Atlas is a community science project aiming to track and conserve bumble bees in the state. Anyone is welcome to join the Atlas, no experience is needed, just a drive to help conserve pollinators!
During this event, participants will gain hands-on experience with the Atlas protocol, including netting, chilling, and photographing bees, as well as data recording/entry. The Atlas uses non-lethal survey methods, so no bees are harmed during the project. The training will take place outside, so please bring water, closed-toed shoes, and sun protection. The Atlas is a collaboration between Xerces Society and Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
Registration is required. REGISTER HERE
We will meet at the picnic tables outside of the Nature Center. A state park permit is required for entry.
