Join us at Indian Cave State Park for Birding for Everybody and Every Body!
A free birding activity that is accessible and inclusive! This event is open to everyone, including beginner birders and families with small children. Join a guided bird outing through the new trail near the pollinator gardens.
Meet at the museum gazebo to be led by Birdability Captain Cassandra Dean.
The birding trail is about 1/4 mile in a loop around the pollinator gardens. The trail is a mowed grass trail with a slight slope and is well shaded by tree cover. There are no benches along the trail. The guided outing will take about 30 minutes. We will also have a 30-minute Big Sit at the bird feeders around 3:30 p.m. to count the numbers of birds we see. You can come to either the 3:00 p.m. outing or the 3:30 p.m. Big Sit or you can do both. Please stay for the rest of the Migratory Birding Day Activities at the park.
Things to bring: Water and weather appropriate clothing for being outdoors. If you are participating in the Big Sit, please bring you own lawn chairs. We will have binoculars available to use or bring your own!
Paved parking and restrooms at the museum.
Please contact the park with any questions: ngpc.indian.cave@nebraska.gov
