Join us at Rock Creek Station State Historical Park for Birding for Everybody and Every Body!
A free birding activity that is accessible and inclusive! This event is open to everyone, including beginner birders and families with small children. Join a guided bird outing or view birds from the Visitor Center lobby.
May 20th is Free Park Entry Day – no vehicle permit is required!
We have some loaner binoculars available or bring your own!
Meet at the Visitor Center. The outing will be led by Birdability Captain, Cassandra Dean.
The birding trail is about 1 mile – ½ mile in and ½ mile out – to and from the Visitor Center. The trail is a mowed grass trail with a slight slope. Picnic table seating will be available about ¼ mile from the Visitor Center. The guided outing will take about 1 hour and will be limited to the first 20 people. Birding may also be done from the Visitor Center lobby by viewing birds at the feeding station through the large picture windows.
Please bring water and weather appropriate clothing for being outdoors.
Paved parking and restrooms are available at the Visitor Center.
