Make like a bird and migrate! To celebrate Nebraska Bird Month and International Migratory Bird Day, we’ll be hosting a bird-crawl! Those who register will receive an itinerary for the day which will guide you as you navigate the migration route through three of our region’s parks. Each stop on the route will include birding activities such as learning about raptors, dissecting owl pellets, going on a birding hike, playing games, building a bird feeder and more
Those participating are responsible for their own transportation and lunch. Each vehicle entering a state park or recreation area requires a Nebraska State Park Sticker, which can be purchased online at outdoornebraska.gov or at Schramm Education Center for $6 daily and $30 annually for NE licensed vehicles.
You can register here.
This program requires travel in your own vehicle between the following park locations: Schramm Park SRA, Platte River State Park and E. T. Mahoney State Park. You may pack picnic lunches or stop in Louisville or Gretna on your route between Schramm Park and Platte River State Park.
