Beginning Nature Journaling Educator Workshop

June 8, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

FREE
A nature journal can be an extremely powerful and individual tool to have! Not only will a nature journal unlock your creativity, but it can provide data from the past to help observe patterns. It can also help students and adults understand the importance of good data collection, and reinforces the scientific process. All while, expressing art, reading, and writing skills.
Join Nebraska Game and Parks science educators as we walk you through an intro to Nature Journaling. In this class we will help start you out with prompts and get you outside to observe data. Throughout this two hour class we will discuss different nature observations you can make, give you ideas for how to set up your nature journal and talk about the importance of data collecting and how that relates to Nebraska and in the end, good science communication.
Who should attend? This workshop is for formal and informal educators that want to start nature journaling in the hopes they will use this information in their future classrooms, or with future students.
This is a FREE educator workshop, but participants are required to register beforehand. For those that participate you will receive a nature journal, nature prompt book, literature, and some few basic art supplies. Participants must attend the entire class to receive these resources.
