Bee MycHotels: Using a Native Fungus for Conservation of Native Pollinators

June 24 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Solitary pollinators are responsible for up to 80% of pollination, yet their numbers are rapidly declining. Fungi offer a potential to buffer solitary pollinator populations by providing sustainable habitat.

Katy Ayers leads a team of Central Community College students in utilizing a native fungus to create nesting habitat for solitary bees and wasps. Through collaboration and communication Ayers and her team hope to increase awareness of solitary pollinators as well as the endless possibilities of fungi.

This event is FREE!   Register Here. For more information email Jamie Bachmann, jamie.bachmann@nebraska.gov or check out the Nebraska Wildlife Education Facebook page.
