“Backyard Farmer” is hitting the road and traveling to the beautiful Schramm Park State Recreation Area near Gretna for a free event on Saturday, May 30. We can’t wait to see you there!

Join Host Kim Todd and panelists Jody Green, Kyle Broderick, Dana Freeman and Dennis Ferraro for an afternoon of fun. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets and your best questions, and even samples from your lawn or gardens for part of the Q&A session.

Make your day of it and come early for Know Your Nebraska Invasives Day! From 12-3 p.m., you can enjoy a free, family-friendly event with hands-on activities, games and outdoor experiences to help visitors identify invasive species, understand their impact on Nebraska’s ecosystems and learn how to prevent their spread. This event is hosted by the Nebraska Games and Parks Commission.

In case of inclement weather, “Backyard Farmer” will be recorded inside the education center. Know Your Invasive Species Day will be cancelled.

Parking is available near the education center parking lot. A state permit is not required to park at the education center but is for other areas of the park.
