A mentored Youth Waterfowl Hunt will take place on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 8 a.m. Mountain Time at Clear Creek Wildlife Management Area.

Youths ages 11-15 are welcome to attend free of charge. Space is limited to 25 youths; pre-registration & Hunter Education class are required prior to participation. Preference will be given to kids who have never participated in the youth hunt; once registration fills, additional registrants will be added to a waitlist. In-person check-in begins at 8 a.m. at the Clear Creek WMA office.

Snacks and lunch to be provided.

There will also be door prizes and raffles, along with a drawing for a youth lifetime hunting permit.

The morning workshop will be considered a Hunt Safe session.

Learning Stations will include:

•Firearm Safety

•Decoy placement

•Zones of fire

•Blind safety

•Duck calling

•Trap shooting

•Dog demo

•Boating skills and safety

•Waterfowl identification

•Mentored hunt with a Conservation Officer
