Join us at Ash Hollow Historical Park for the 4th Annual Ash Hollow Living History Rendezvous on Thurs., Sept. 12 thru Sat., Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.
The rendezvous will allow park visitors to absorb themselves in pre-1840 history, unique culture and educate themselves of an era gone by. Rendezvous were historically held in the fall between fur traders and local Native American tribes and were a time to gather, share trade goods such as skins, furs, beads, food items, weapons, and knowledge.
Throughout the event, enjoy hands on educational activities with experts on Dutch oven cooking, teepees, chuck wagon 101, trap setting, gold mining, black powder shooting, quilting demonstrations and exhibit, tomahawk throwing, blacksmithing, tin smithing, wood working, mini log cabin building, a petting zoo, trail rides, food and craft vendors and more.
Schools are encouraged to sign up for field trips on Sept. 12 and Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. – noon. Mountain Time. Preregistration is required. Please call 308-778-7708 to schedule a field trip.
Admission is free with a valid Nebraska park permit.
