9:00—11:00 am Introduction to Archery and Shotguns — Join us for introductory courses on Archery and Shotguns. All equipment is provided. Archery participants must be 5 years old or older and Shotgun participants must be 12 year old or older. Meet and pay at the Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex. Cost is $1/6 arrows for Archery and $7/ box of shells for Shotguns.
11:30 am Critter Corner — Critter Corner is a very popular program for all ages. This program provides a snapshot of the wildlife found along the Missouri River. Participants will be able to see and touch live critters, furs, feathers, shells, skulls, etc. Meet at the Resource and Education Center. Free.
1:30-2:30 pm Superpowers of Water — Did you know that 60 % of our bodies are made out of water? Discover the cool tricks that water can perform and try out neat water experiments. Visit the Pool. Free.
2:30 pm Puddles of Fun — Ponds hold creatures small and large, squishy and scaley. Join a naturalist as we toodle around the pond and catch the creatures that call it home. Wear shoes and pants that can get wet. There are options for those who do not want to get wet but still want in on the fun. Meet at the Resource and Education Center. Free.
4:00 pm Carving with Soap — Wood Carving is a unique skill and hobby. Enjoy seeing the art work of a local wood carver and learn tips and trick to carve your own creation out of soap. Preregister and meet at the Resource and Education Center. Cost is $1 per craft. Limited to 20 people.
5:30 pm; 6:15 pm Kids on Parade— Celebrate the 4th of July riding on a hayrack in the Kid’s Parade. At 5:30 pm the kids ride from the Resource and Education Center to Turkey Ridge Campground where participants can toss candy out to the campers. At 6:15 pm the same will be done at Oak Bluff Campground. Preregister and meet at the Resource and Education Center. Maximum of 25 participants per time slot. Free.
7:30; 8:30 pm Hayrack Tour — Learn everything you wanted to know about Ponca State Park on a guided hayrack tour. We stop by the Tristate Overlook, Towers of Time, and the Riverfront as we travel through the park. Meet and pay at the Resource and Education Center. Please pre-register at front desk. Cost is $5.00 for Adults and $3.00 for Kids (5 years old and under are free). Maximum of 25 people allowed, minimum of 10. No alcohol or pets are allowed.
