Have Fun at Ponca State Park!
9:00 am – 11:00 am Introduction to Archery —Introductory courses on Archery with all equipment is provided. Archery participants must be 5 years old. Meet and pay at the Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex. Cost $1/6 arrows for archery.
11:00 am; 1:30 pm; 3:30 pm Backwater Kayaking — Learn the basic skills of kayaking in an “off-river” backwater area. Fine-tune your kayaking skills while touring our backwater area and viewing wildlife. Preregister at the Resource and Education Center. Meet and pay at the Resource and Education Center. Must be 12 years of age or older and the cost is $12.00/person.
11:30 am Critter Corner — Critter Corner is a very popular program for all ages. It provides a snapshot of the wildlife found along the Missouri River. Participants will be able to see, and touch live critters, furs, feathers, shells, skulls, etc. Meet at the Resource & Education Center. Free.
1:00 pm Bee Bots — Learn the importance Honeybees have on our food supply, how they communicate, and build a bee bot. (a bee bot is a motorized bee) Then participate in a Honeybee Challenge where you compete against others to see who can get their bee bot to travel to multiple food plots and back to its hive. Meet in the Resource and Education Cen-ter. Free.
3:00 pm Aquatic Bug Program — The insect world is incredibly vast. In this program, we hope to shed light on some of the insects commonly found in rivers and streams. Nets and bug jars will be provided. Be prepared to get wet! Old shoes are recommended. Meet in the Resource and Education Center. Free.
5:00 pm; 6:15 pm; 7:30 pm Hayrack Tour — Learn everything you wanted to know about Ponca State Park, but were scared to ask. Great for groups new to the park. Meet and pay at the Resource and Education Center. Please pre-register at front desk. Cost is $4.00 for Adults, $2.00 for Kids (5 years old and under are free). Maximum of 25 people allowed, minimum of 10.
8:30 pm Firefly Frolic – Learn all about these unique little beetles that light up our nights! Bring your flashlight and join in the fun. Please pre-register at front desk. Meet at the Riverfront Campground. Free.
