Have Fun at Ponca State Park!

9:00– 11:00 am Introduction to Tomahawks and Atlatl — Learn how to throw a tomahawk and use an ancient Paleo-Indian spear throwing tool, called an atlatl. Participants will also learn a little history behind both of these weapons and how they were used by our ancestors. All equipment will be provided. Participants must be 5 years old or older. Meet at the Tomahawk and Atlatl range in the Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex. $1/6 throws.

11:30 am Feeding Frenzy — Have you ever wondered how a frog eats or how a snake can swallow a mouse larger than his body cavity? Join a naturalist as we feed the animals in the Resource and Education Center. Be prepared to touch worms and crickets in this program. Meet in the Resource and Center. Free.

2:00 pm Outdoor Cooking Class — Learn how to make tasty treats over the campfire! Participants will be making popcorn, s’mores in a bag , and pudgie pies with a pie iron. This class is for all ages. Pre-register, pay, and meet at the Resource and Education Center. Cost is $3 per person. Visit
