Have Fun at Ponca State Park at Marsh Madness!
6:15 am Sunrise Bird Tour— Get up before the birds! Join an expert guide from the Loess Hills Audubon Society to watch waterfowl wake up and continue their migration. Twenty-two different species of waterfowl have been viewed from our blinds. Make sure to bundle up for this program and feel free to bring your binoculars, spotting scopes, and cameras. Space is limited. Please pre-register by calling (402) 755-2284. Meet inside of the Resource and Education Center. Free.
11:00 Bird Critter Corner— Learn about a variety bird species in the display wing of the Education Center. Participates will be able to touch and feel talons, feathers, and beaks. A live African Ring Neck Dove will be present for the kids to see! Meet in the dis-play wing of the Resource and Education Center. Free.
2:00pm Bird Feeders — Bird migration is in full swing and unique birds will start stopping at your feeders. Learn different tips about filling and caring for your birdfeeders. We will also be creating bird feeders. This program is for all ages. Meet in the Resource and Education Center. $1 per bird feeder.
6:00 pm– Sunset Bird Tour— Watch the birds return to the safety of the marsh at dusk. A guide from the Loess Hill Audubon Society will accompany you to our bird blinds. Binoculars, spotting scopes, and bird books will be available on the tour. Space is limited. Please pre-register by calling (402) 755-2284. Meet in front of the Resource and Education Center. Free.
There is still time to enter our Snowman Contest. The Snowman Building Contests ends the first day of spring, March 19th.
This weekend there will be a 20% discount on all bird and star merchandise and a 30% discount on mini-lodges.
A Park Entry Permit is required.
