The Harold W. Andersen Visitor Center will be open daily from May 28 through September 5 from 10am to 5pm and weekends April 30 through May 22 and from September 10 through October 9.   An admission fee of $2 per adult & $1 for children is required for the Visitor Center.

Living History Schedule with interpretive hours from 10am to 5pm as follows:

April 30 & May 1            August 6 & 7

June 4 & 5                       September 3 & 4

July 2 & 3                        October 1 & 2

On these days, volunteers portray life at an 1820’s military fort.  Each event weekend has a different theme. Contact the park for further information.

September 3rd & 4th are the dates of the next Living History Weekend at Fort Atkinson State Historical Park located near Ft. Calhoun NE. On these days visitors can get a feel of life on the 1820’s frontier. Demonstrations of trades and crafts are ongoing from 10 AM to 5PM each day. In addition to help celebrate Archaeology Month, Nebraska State Historical Society Archaeologist, Nolan Johnson, will lead tours of this Historic Landmark. These tours will start at 12:30 each day at the Powder Magazine. Plus WWII interpreters will have an encampment on site.

A Park Entry Permit is required.
