9:00 —11:00 am Introduction to Archery & Shotguns—Introductory courses on Archery and Shotguns will be offered at the Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex. All equipment is provided. Archery participants must be 5 years old and shotgun participants must be 12 years or older. Meet and pay at the Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex. Cost is $1/6 arrows for archery; $7/box of shells for shotguns.
10:00 am Dutch Ovens —Learn how to cook a delicious Dutch Oven breakfast includ- ing cinnamon rolls and a mountain man breakfast. At this program, participants will receive a 20% off coupon for all Dutch Oven supplies. Preregister, meet, and pay at the Resource and Educational Center. Cost is $3.00 per person and is limited to 20 people.
11:30 am Critter Corner — Critter Corner is a very popular program for all ages. This program provides a snapshot of the wildlife found along the Missouri River. Participants will be able to see and touch live critters, furs, feathers, shells, skulls, etc. Meet at the Resource & Education Center. Free.
11:30 am; 2:00 pm; 4:00 pm Backwater Kayaking — Learn the basic skills of kayaking in an “off-river” backwater area. Fine-tune your kayaking skills while touring our backwater area and viewing wildlife. Preregister, meet, and pay at the Resource and Education Center. Each session is limited to 12 people. Must be 12 years of age or older and the cost is $12.00/person.
1:30 pm Hop, Skip, Jump! — We get around by cars, bikes, scooters and engines. How do the animals around here get from one spot to another? Come have fun getting your feet and hands messy, learning how the ani- mals move around, while becoming a tracking expert. Meet at the Resource and Education Center. Free.
3:00 –4:00 pm The Wonder of Water — Experiments with water. From building boats to surface tension on a penny, there will be various experiments near the Aquatic Center. Meet at the Aquatic Center Entrance. Free.
5:00 pm; 6:15 pm; 7:30 pm Hayrack Tour — Learn everything you wanted to know about Ponca State Park on a guided hayrack tour. We stop by the Tristate Overlook, Towers of Time, and the Riverfront as we travel through the park. Preregister, meet, and pay at the Resource and Education Center. Cost is $4.00 for Adults and $2.00 for Kids (5 years old and under are free). Maximum of 25 people allowed, minimum of 10. No alcohol or pets are allowed.
7:00 pm Wild Side Animal Interactions— Join the wild side with a Ponca State Naturalist as you learn how to safely interact with some of the animals here at Ponca State Park.Have a fascination with animals? Just curious and want to learn more? Come and learn fascinating facts and experience some of the tamer animals here at the park. Preregister and meet at the Resource and Education Center as this event is limited to 25 people for safe interactions. Free.
