Birdwatchers of all ages, from beginners to experienced are invited to participate in Ponca State Park’s Annual Christmas Bird Count on December 14th. Members of the Loess Hills Audubon Society will assist guests and birders report sightings and comparing notes. The National Audubon Society compiles the results from Christmas Bird Counts from across the nation beginning December 14th thru January 5th. Information gathered becomes part of a long-term database, used by conservationists and researchers. Ponca State Park’s Annual Christmas Bird Count takes flight at 8:00 am on December 14th. There will be chicken noodle soup 12:00 – 1:00 pm for all participants and 1:00 – 5:00 pm additional birding will take place. Please dress for the weather. Bring binoculars and bird books.
