Join us for a Spooktacular event at Branched Oak State Recreation Area on Saturday, October 21 from 3:30-9 p.m. at Middle Oak Campground! Pumpkins will be available for sale on site for the pumpkin rolling contest and pumpkin carving.

Activity Schedule

3:30 – 5:30 p.m. – Activities which will include pumpkin rolling contest (all ages welcome; meet between campsites #20-21), a photo booth, pumpkin carving, apple sling, fish pond, and more!

5 – 6 p.m. – Costume Contest

6:30 – 9:00 p.m. – Trick or Treat the Campers (campers participating will display a trick or treat ghost on their campsite post).

7 p.m. – Campsite Decorating Contest

7 – 8:45 p.m. – Haunted Trail Hayrack Rides

Update: Due to some unexpected changes in staffing, ticket sales for the Haunted Hayrack Ride will go on sale September 25, 2023 from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and are limited to the first 720 people.  Call 402-783-3400 to reserve.  Tickets must be purchased in advance.  Admission is $7 for children under 12 and $9 for 13 and older. Children under 3 free.  Pick up pre-purchased tickets at the park office during business hours or at the campground information booth at Middle Oak Creek on October 21, 2023.

Park Entry Vehicle Permits are required.

Visitor parking will be north of Middle Oak Creek Campground. All vehicle traffic in the campground will be closed for the safety of the trick-or-treaters from 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
