Birdwatchers of all ages are invited to participate in Ponca State Park’s Annual Christmas Bird Count on December 14th. The National Audubon Society compiles the results from Christmas Bird Counts from across the nation beginning December 14th thru January 5th. The information gathered becomes part of a long-term data base, used by conservationists and researchers.
Explore the outdoors while joining members of the Loess Hills Audubon Society in helping us report sightings and compare notes with other bird enthusiasts. Ponca State Park’s Annual Christmas Bird Count will begin at 7:30am. Please dress for the weather. Bring binoculars and bird books. If you do not have binoculars or a bird book Ponca State Park will loan them to you.
