Ponca State Park is celebrating twenty years of Hallowfest, Saturday, October 13th & Saturday, October 20th. Click here to download the event flyer.
To celebrate the twentieth year of Hallowfest, guests will notice new additions to this annual event. One such new addition is Walking Bingo. Guests can pick up a “Bingo” card at the office front desk, one of the craft tables and at the smore’s station. Walking Bingo is where guests look for creatures or individuals described on their bingo card. When found, the creature or individual will place a sticker on the guest’s bingo card. When all squares are filled on the card, guests present their cards to the office front desk for a Hallowfest prize.
Hallowfest begins both Saturdays with fortune telling, Ponca Senior class selling glow in the dark items and crafts 9:30am – 11:30am. Then starting at 12:00 noon Conrad’s Kitchen will be on top of Scouts Hill offering up tasty lunch specials. From noon until 3:30 pm, there will be games, free smore’s, a maze and photo opts. At 1:00 pm it’s the famous Pumpkin Roll Obstacle Course. Guests roll their pumpkins down Scout’s Hill through some interesting obstacles; competing for distance.
Prizes are awarded in three age groups with a bonus Brutus division (extremely large pumpkins). 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm is a creative pumpkin carving contest. All pumpkins must be carved at the designated location and within the allotted timeframe to qualify. One prize will be awarded to the best design in three age categories. Must be present to win. All ages are welcome.
