FIRST SHOTS Archery @ Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center

Take your first shots with us!

The biggest challenge for new shooters is getting started. First Shots makes getting started in shooting very easy – and, best of all, it’s only $10!

At a First Shots seminar, you’ll receive:
-An educational introduction to the safe and recreational use of bows
-A clear understanding of the local requirements for owning and purchasing a bow
-Individual and group training
-A rundown of shooting sports opportunities for all levels of interest
-A chance to give archery a try!

This seminar offers a small group setting for students ages 8 and over.

Attending participants receive a reward coupon for over 50% off their next archery class at the Outdoor Education Center.

Closed-toe shoes are recommended.

Archery 1 – JOAD @ Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center
May 13 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

This basic USA Archery class is open to students who are new to JOAD or who are still working to advance to Archery 2. Explore Archery is a recommended prerequisite but not required.

Our Center Shot Archery Academy course includes achievement awards, skill training, and games with a focus on guiding each student in improvement at their own pace. Each session includes a short lesson and coaching while students are on the line. Archery 1 students have the opportunity to shoot for their green and purple pins during select class sessions. Over the course of the quarter, students will advance their scoring skills, learn about competition etiquette, and work to achieve the pins and techniques needed to advance to the next level.

No equipment is required, but personal equipment is allowed for some portions of the class.

If seats are listed as available, students may register and join the class at any time except the last 4 weeks of the quarter. Allowances may be made at the discretion of the instructor. Full price still applies.

Explore Archery @ Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center

Explore Archery is a fun and perfect fit for beginners of any ability wanting to get started in the sport of archery.

If a student is fairly new to archery and looking for a full introductory program, Explore Archery has everything you need – bows, arrows, and enthusiastic instructors! You’ll learn range safety, fundamentals of archery shooting, and parts of a bow and arrow – plus receive skill-building coaching and play exciting games.

Ages 8 and over.

Interested in archery? Not sure where to begin?

This introduction to archery is your place to start!

Try archery will cover basic range rules and procedures, along with basic form. The whole point of this class is to see if archery is something you could be really interested in. This class will have you flinging arrows in no time! Archery is a lifelong sport that the entire family can enjoy!

Introduction to NASP @ Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center

If you weren’t part of a school program during this past school year and want to become a part of our Summer NASP League, or just want to learn more about how the National Archery in the Schools program works, join us for this introductory clinic.
