Camp counselors are a key part of making the Outdoor Education Center’s summer programs fun and memorable. This exciting new camp will provide specialty training for our camp crew for the summer season!

Learn how to instruct a variety of outdoor activities: target archery, bowfishing, slingshot, tomahawk, atlatl, hiking, photography, survival, knot tying, outdoor cooking, marksmanship, and more! Most of the instructional training will be done through hands-on activities.

Crew preparation will also cover conservation knowledge, schedules, safety procedures and training, communication, and crew responsibilities.

Designed for fledgling outdoors enthusiasts, the Nebraska Adventures Camp is a way to explore the state without the gas mileage. Campers will develop an appreciation of the natural world by exploring different regions – the wildlife, landscapes, and unique adventures only found in Nebraska.

Preparing them for future excursions, campers will learn how to put up tents, build campfires, cook outdoors, take photos, explore the wild, and play outdoor games. Practical safe skills with slingshots, bows, atlatl, and rifles are included.

If extended care* options are not selected, drop-off is no earlier than 15 minutes before camp and pick-up is no later than 15 minutes after.

*Extended care is available for participants needing to be dropped off earlier than 8:15 am and/or picked up after 4:15 pm. Extended care is $5 per morning or evening option and offers the opportunity for quiet self-guided activities. Participants may bring meals/snacks, books, etc.
