Archery 2 – JOAD (Compound) @ Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center

Our Center Shot Archery Academy intermediate level class is open to students who have previously been enrolled at the intermediate level OR have achieved the listed prerequisites.

Lessons will focus on the form, equipment, and attitude needed to shoot a compound bow in hunting, recreational, and competitive settings. Each session includes a short lesson and coaching while students are on the line. Students will receive their own copy of the National Training System (NTS) shot cycle, a stretch band, a string bow, and a finger sling.

Ages 8 and over.

Prerequisites:
– Name at least four steps of the NTS Shot Cycle
– Earn at least 4 pins (white pin) in any discipline
– Personal compound equipment is required (equipment should be fitted to the individual in terms of draw weight and length before the first class)

Christmas at the Codys @ Buffalo Bill State Historical Park

The event includes a tour through the mansion with entertainment in the parlor, cookies, cider and roasted chestnuts, a hayride through the grounds, a tour through the barn and a visit with Santa.

USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification @ Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center

The Level 1 Archery Instructor Certification Course provides graduates the necessary tools to maintain a high level of safety both on and off the archery range and ensures that minimum standards for archery instruction are consistently taught to provide for the safety and enjoyment of the participants, instructors and spectators.

Level 1 Instructors are well prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities in a variety of both indoor and outdoor settings in the disciplines of target, field or 3-D archery. The Level 1 Instructor will learn about range safety, range setup, the steps of shooting, equipment and repair, programs and lesson plans.

Course Length: 8 hours (Dependent on class size)

Course Cost: $80

Certification Period: Three years from the date of course completion

Prerequisites
– Minimum age is 15
– Level 1 course is NOT a prerequisite to attend a Level 2 course

– Eligible for USA Archery insurance coverage. See USA Archery Insurance page for requirements**.
– All Level 1 Instructors who assist in a USA Archery Club are required to obtain a Range Pass.

Classic Christmas @ Eugene T. Mahoney State Park

NFAA 300 @ Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center
Dec 14 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Indoor Target Archery Competition: NFAA 300 (12 ends of 5 arrows)

Check in begins at 5 pm; shooting begins at 6 pm.

MEMBERSHIP
The tournament is open to all NFAA members as well as archers with no affiliation.

A limited number of NASP lanes will be available. NASP competitors will shoot standard 10m and 15m distances at 80 cm (standard) target face.

Christmas at the Bowring @ Arthur Bowring Sandhills Ranch State Historical Park
