Shootout at Salt Creek – January @ Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center
Jan 5 @ 8:45 am – 12:00 pm

Shootout at Salt Creek is an indoor cowboy action competition series. Competitors use Old West style pistols, rifles, and shotguns to complete the course of fire.

Events are held the first Sunday of the month November through March.

Doors open at 8:15 a.m., shooters meeting at 8:45 a.m. Hostilities will commence at 9 a.m. (first shot downrange). Event ends at High Noon.

Adults (ages 16+) will be challenged with 3 to 4 stages of approximately 10 pistol, 10 rifle, and 2 shotgun rounds per stage.

Youth ages 8-15 will be able to compete in the Buckaroo category, with 3-4 timed stages of approximately 10 .22 pistol, 10 .22 rifle and 2 .410 shotgun rounds per stage.

This competition series follows the SASS Handbook with exceptions to accommodate an indoor range and novice shooters. The number of categories have been reduced from a typical match. Shooters will furnish their own guns and ammunition (loaner equipment MAY be available upon request for new competitors).

Cowboy clothing is recommended but not required for “city slickers,” though this is part of the fun. No tennis shoes (except for medical reasons), baseball caps, or t-shirts. This is Cowboy Country!

Minors must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.

$15/adult, $10/youth
